Omega's USAG Junior Olympic Boys Team consists of All-Around gymnasts ranging from Level 5 skill rules through Level 10 skill rules. They train between 9 and 15 hours per week year-round. Their Competitive season takes place during the winter months from January through March with state, regional and national championships happening in April and May. Come cheer them on this year at their meets! Go Omega!
Head Men’s Coach - Coach Jacob “Jake” Christensen
Coach Jake has been involved in gymnastics for over 20 years. He has been the Head Men’s Coach at Omega since 2011. Born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa his gymnastics career began when he was 4 years old. He competed in several state, regional, and national championships. In 2001 he was the Iowa State Gymnast of the Year. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School that same year and was accepted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he competed as an NCAA Division I gymnast. His senior year the team won the Eastern Conference Championships for the first time in over 40 years. After earning a degree in electrical engineering from West Point Jake served as an officer in the United States Army for six years including two tours in Iraq. In 2011 Jake left the Army to take over as the Men’s Program Director for Omega. His team has won over 10 individual Nebraska State Titles, two Nebraska State Team Championships, two individual Regional Titles, and he has graduated one of his gymnasts to an NCAA Division 1 program.
